Cole at the Fairgrounds, May 4, 2014

Late Model racing is very special to me. It’s how I, and many others, got started in this sport. Following Nigel Kinrade (NKP), amongst others, on Twitter is what first inspired me to pursue photography. There’s a long story that goes along with that, but we’ll save that for another time. What’s pertinent to this story is the pride I take in putting that NKP logo on my photos. While I was shooting Late Models back in Nashville, working for someone like Nigel seemed to be next to impossible and light years away.

I’ve known Cole Williams and his family for a long time. They are some of my earliest friends (and clients) from Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville. I was thrilled when I heard that he, Dillon Oliver, and Paul Nogradi (props to other Fairgrounds folks) were going to be competing at Bristol. It was awesome seeing Nashville regulars (Cole and Dillon) fighting for the lead in the Pro Late Model race.

It’s incredibly special to me to have this particular photo of Cole, at Bristol (above), with the NKP logo on it. It’s a culmination of years of work, dedication, and luck for the both of us. I’m super proud of Cole, Eric, Terry, Lynette, Kris, and Cody for all that they’ve been through and where they’re headed.
